He / HimTo acknowledge that assumptions about someone’s gender identity could be incorrect, many organizations, including NC State, have begun to encourage community members to include a brief statement of their gender pronouns as they introduce themselves within a group.

Shout-outs are kind words from Libraries staff to other Libraries staff for going out of their way to be extra awesome at their job.
Huge shout out to Oliver for all his work on a writing retreat organized as part of a grant award from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. He made sure that multiple, complex travel arrangements were seamlessly completed and reimbursed. In addition to the positive experience of colleagues from the Libraries, Oliver also interacted with several external people involved in the project. Without exception, every person mentioned the amazing help that Oliver provided to make things run well. Thanks, Oliver, you made the trip fantastic and we are so grateful!

Oliver is one the most approachable, accessible, and helpful person when it comes to the financial and logistical aspects of traveling for work. He always knows how to find solutions to problems and makes sure that everything is in order for a smooth process, especially when it comes to filling out forms and providing relevant documentation. On top of that, he's prompt and friendly in every communication I've had with him. Thanks for everything Oliver!

During COVID-19, Oliver Morris has stepped up to work beyond F&B and help out Collections & Research Strategy after Katharine Frazier's departure from her ULT role in C&RS. Due to UNC System imposed hiring restrictions, C&RS has not filled the position and has relied on Oliver to lend support. Starting out, Oliver addressed the critical need of triaging collection requests that came directly from patrons. This has expanded into data collection and analysis related to collections as well as tracking and designating COVID-related collections purchases that could be eligible for reimbursement from the University. A huge shout-out to Oliver for doing this work with he usual diligence, grace, and unsurpassed customer service! The Libraries is lucky to have Oliver!

Every year in C&RS we collect usage data for our online journals, databases and ebooks. We rely on this usage to evaluate the Libraries' collection in order to make sure we are providing faculty, students and researchers the best return on investment possible. Publishers are constantly changing their admin portals making this process really complicated and confusing. Oliver stepped in from his normal job in F&B to help after Katharine started her Fellows position. He came in to a completely new workflow and domain and really saved the day. Thanks, Oliver!
